Another lovely week, it was lovely to be back. The cottage so welcoming and cosy as always. Love all the recent improvements too. Lovely meals at the Crown Inn and Allendale Tea Rooms. The children really enjoyed Halloween at Walllington Hall. Great trip to Beamish too. Very sad to leave but can't wait to come back soon. Thankyou. Michael, Cheryl, James and Alicia, Somerset.

Did very little and it was great! The new garden path is spot on! -Stephen, Gateshead.

Thankyou -.. for sharing your lovely home. Jonah, Louise, Hester & Sophie.

Possibly the most generously supplied cottage in over four decades of self-catering! We have had a lovely week exploring Allendale.John & Sue.

Had a wonderful relaxing time, beautiful place to stay. Appreciated all the little touches. Thank you. M Runnell, Dorset.

Lovely cottage for our first family holiday everything we could possibly need plus more for a relaxing time with a 3 month old. Hope to return for another hol. Annie, James & Benjamin.

What beautiful countryside! Friendly locals and good pubs. Loved the Tar Barling. We were even lucky enough too see two glorious rainbows on New Years Day. We enjoyed cycling around the area. Good routes for an 8 year old. Tim enjoyed the log fire. Lovely cosy cottage. Lot’s to do. Moltram family, Glasgow.

An excellent few days in this lovely cottage. Made good use of the summerhouse with barbeques every night. Wonderful weather and great walks. Hope to be back, thanks for the beer on arrival – went down a treat. Tooley family, Herts.

Our third stay here – same week. Lovely to come back to a cottage that we are familiar with. Weather hasn’t been great - but hasn’t held us back. Boys have spent hours by the pond, newt, frog hunting etc. Will return for another Allendale “fix”. Thank you. Boaler family, Sunbury, Middlesex.

My batteries are re-charged. Seen red squirrel and jumping salmon. Back in October. Great! S. Drew, Gateshead.

A last minute google piece of good fortune enabled us to experience a wonderful end of “summer” stay in your lovely cottage. And introduced us to a beautiful previously unvisited (by us) part of England. Thank you. It is such a joy to stay in a house rather than a relatively characterless “holiday cottage”. A well equipped house. We enjoyed visits to Killhope and Nenthead lead mining museums. Scott, Co. Antrim.

Summerhouse a real asset. Scenery stunning. Generous and thoughtful provision of necessities and luxuries greatly appreciated. Dewar family, Dumfries.

More of a home to “holiday” than a holiday cottage - loved lots of the touches – books, eye level fridge, pantry, lots of lights ( many cottages keep us in romantic gloom) and of course the incomparable North Pennine countryside. Hudson, Washington. Very comfortable and well-thought out cottage - rechargeable torch and candles perfectly placed for Boxing Day power cut! Usually stay in 4 star hotels so was worried about self-catering – didn’t need to be concerned, everything worked and I was warm! Congratulations on getting it right!
